a) 2^ND SEMESTER - ERSU UNIVERSITY RESIDENCES

The university residences are run by ERSU - Regional Agency for students’ services. ERSU will reserve several places for exchange students coming to Macerata in the seconod semester. Click here to have an overview of all the residences run by the ERSU office.

To stay there you would pay:

- €140,00 per month, for a double room (all costs included)
- €180,00 per month, for a single room (all costs included)
- €100,00 deposit. The deposit is to be paid before you collect your keys. It will be refunded at the end of your stay unless a damage is claimed to the room and facilities, or in case of irregular rent payment, in which case the deposit will be retained by the Administration.

b) STUDENTS’ LIST

Click here to see the list of the exchange students coming to Macerata in the 2nd semester of the a.y. 2009/2010. If you are among the first ten students (green lines), the ERSU office will guarantee a room for you when you arrive in Macerata. Please make sure to prepare all the documents required to enter the residences.

If you are not among the first ten students,you will have the chance to go to the ERSU office all the same, but they cannot guarantee that there will be rooms left. We suggest that you also read the information on how to look for a room in a private flat, in case.

c) HOW TO RESERVE YOUR ROOM

1. Select the item "University Residence" in your Application form and mail it to the International Office by 30 November 2009. As the priority is give to the students who send their form earlier, we suggest that you e-mail a copy of your Application form to mara.salvucci@unimc.it as soon as you can. Please specify to the same e-mail address your exact date of arrival as soon as you book your flight/journey.

2. Wait for our Letter of assignation. We will inform the students entitled to have a room in the university residences after 30 novembre 2009.

d) WHAT TO DO UPON ARRIVAL

REGISTER AT THE INTERNATIONAL OFFICE (CRI) AND AT THE ERSU OFFICE

The CRI and the ERSU are in the same street. It only takes three minutes to go from one office to the other. They are 10 minutes away walking from the train station (Piazza XXV Aprile, 10) and from the bus terminal (Piazza Pizzarello).

Our Letter of assignation entitle you to select a room among the ones available when you arrive in Macerata. The ERSU cannot specify in advance which room will be available for you. After choosing the room you prefer, you will be requested to pay the first month rent (€140,00 or €180,00 euros) and the deposit (€100,00 euros) as soon as possible.

-check in the section "Required Documents" the list of the compulsory documents to collect your room keys and enter the residence.

Please note that you will be allowed to collect your room keys only during the ERSU office hours:

Monday to Friday_from 09.30/to 13.00; Tuesday and Thursday from 15.30 to 16.30

If you arrive outside these hours you should find temporary accommodation at the hostel Ostello Asilo Ricci and register at the ERSU office the following day.

e) REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

In order to have access to the University residence you must present the following documents:

Before arrival

a Certificate of general health and overall fitness issued by a national public health authority (even your general practitioner) attesting the absence of contagious diseases and including the results of a tuberculosis test (if you are not vaccinated). We suggest that your doctor uses our Certificate of General Health form.
The overall fitness certificate should be done no more than three months before your arrival. In the case you have to provide the tuberculosis test, the test shouldn't be done more than ten days before your arrival in Italy. Alternatively, any or all of these documents can be obtained in Italy (Macerata’s health service).

Mail the Certificate of General Health to the International Office (Via Piave, 42 - 62100 Macerata) and forward a copy of it to mara.salvucci@unimc.it as soon as you can.

Upon arrival (After you have selected your room at the ERSU office)

A receipt of the payment of the first month rent (€140,00 for a double room, or €180,00 for a single room), plus the deposit (€100,00). Please check in the section "Rent Payment" how to credit your money.

The following days

An Italian Identification Tax Code; this code can be obtained for free at the Agenzia delle Entrate (District Tax Office) by simply presenting an identity card or passport. This doesn't require a great deal of time since the tax code is issued immediately:

f) RENT PAYMENT

1. FIRST MONTH

The amount of the rent changes according to the type of room you select when you register at the ERSU office. After choosing your room you will be requested to pay the first month's rent plus the deposit. The rent is to be paid at Banca Marche (the ERSU bank) using these details:

Amount due: €140,00 for a double room, or €180,00 for a single room, plus the deposit of €100,00.

2. FOLLOWING MONTHS

You will have to pay the rent every two months by the 10^th day of every two-month period, using the same bank details.

g) WHAT TO DO BEFORE LEAVING YOUR ROOM

1. Make sure you have filled in the C FORM when you first registered to the ERSU office. In this form you should have specified how you want the get back the deposit of € 100,00. There are two options:

- a crediting to your bank account (IBAN code compulsory);

- a non-negotiable cheque, sent to the address you have specified in the form. All fees relating to the mailing will be charged to you.

2. At least 10 days before you leave, fill in the Letter of Renunciation, where you'll specify your exact date of departure. The Letter has to be signed and delivered to the ERSU office.

h) KEY RETURN

- If you leave on a working day (from Monday to Friday), you will have to return your keys to the ERSU office.

- If you leave on Saturday or Sunday, you can leave your keys on the desk of your room.

If you loose the keys or forget to return them, you won’t get the deposit back.

i) GETTING BACK THE DEPOSIT

Soon after your departure, the ERSU will make a control in your room to check:

- sheets and towels (we recommend that you leave them on your bed)

- furniture and facilities;

If a damage is claimed to the room, if you forgot to return the keys or in case of irregular rent payment, the deposit will be retained by the Administration. Otherwise, you will get it back according to the option specified in the C Form.
